I usually spend most of my Mondays getting myself into the right mindset that enables me to get through a whole working week. That was a little harder to achieve today, knowing that come Thursday I will be on a plane en route to Italia. Productivity level at work today? Very low.
This may sound a little silly but I have not really had the time to sit down and get excited about this tiny trip I'm about to embark on. I arranged my flights five whole months ago and since then, I haven't done a whole lot of planning. A lot of reading about Italian history and a whole lot of watching eat, pray and love on sky. Maybe a few too many times. What am I looking forward to? This:
I am well aware that watching Julia Roberts cruising through the streets of Italy while sunshine hits her face in that perfect angle may have romanticized my whole view of what my trip could be like. But please don't burst my bubble. I will see amazing architecture. I am intending to eat a lot of pasta, drink a lot of wine, meet a lot of good looking locals, and do something that I have not done before, experience la dolce vita..
